Helping hand
Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital offers a helping hand 24  hours a day, seven days a week, rain or shine, holidays included. And it doesn't stop when the bill comes, either. Patients without insurance who are worried about how they will pay for services may qualify for our Charity Care Program. We can also help you apply for government health insurance, or work with you to set up a payment plan that you can afford.
Charity Care Program
We determine who qualifies for Charity Care by comparing their income to federal poverty guidelines published by the government. Those at or below the line may receive free care. Others may receive care at a reduced cost. Those making up to one and a half times the federal poverty rates qualify for help.

You will need to fill out an application and show proof of income and family size. If you are accepted into the program we will send you a letter and follow up with a phone call to set up a payment plan for the portion of the bill you are responsible for, if any.
Only urgent hospital or Emergency Department care can be covered by our charity program. Some things will not be included, such as doctor fees (for the physician who administers anesthesia during surgery, for example) and pharmacy charges. Elective procedures also do not qualify.

Medicaid

FAMIS

Discounts
Those without insurance will receive a 40 percent discount if they pay within 10 days of receiving their first bill. Call our Patient Accounting Office at 414-8701.
